No fair cause can be won without having waged a great battle first.
When I asked the vote of the socialists across Albania to lead this battle, I did not imagine that in less than six months we would achieve that much.
Not because I doubted even for a second on the correctness of our cause concerning the election transparency, but because I was aware about the force of the means the adversary in power possesses in the current conditions when the country is exhausted as result of poverty, trampled on as result of the judiciary and media powers, being at the periphery of the international attention.
In less than six months we are not surrounded anymore by the blindness and deafness in respect of our just cause.
This cause is not anymore only the cause of 93% of the socialists who looked far with courage and voted in favour of the boycott and the protests, but today it has become the cause of the entire people, which is asking for the transparency of the elections. This battle is not anymore only the battle of the left wing, but it belongs also to the right wing that is not dependent on the interests of the power of the Prime Minister’s family.
Now, this cause is not only the cause of every Albanian family, but it is the cause of every international roundtable convened to discuss about Albania.
That’s why I would like to wholeheartedly thank all MPs that defended this cause with determination and sacrifice and made possible its progress through their example of resolution.
In less than six months, our refusal to become part of a facade parliament, which hides an electoral crime, has fully highlighted the crisis of democracy in Albania.
This crisis is not rooted in our absence in the parliament, but in the rigged elections and in this parliament that since six months does not allow the transparency of the electoral process. While facing the extraordinary pressure coming from all sides and shameful diversions that give evidence about the big fear the power of corruption has in respect of the transparency, you all, who defended this cause in the first line of the battle, represent the future, the will and the hope of those, who have voted for us. On behalf of those people I would like to express my gratitude and reinforced conviction that this battle, which is morally and politically won by us, is going to be indispensably materialized through the restitution of our right for unconditional transparency. We will achieve this aim without forgetting for any moment that we came up to this point together with all the people and we can make it only by faithfully representing the will of the people.
Today the Albanians are asking for full and unconditional transparency of the elections and this can be achieved through the opening of the ballot boxes. Our task today is to exercise the will of the Albanians by taking no step back and doing everything we can in this respect. In the everyday more desperate effort the adversary in power has incited and nourished since long ago and everyday more the inutile discussion on the inexistent topic of the so-called mandate expiry of the socialist MPs. There is no doubt that the power of obscurants, who hold the ballot boxes hostage, where the truth of the elections in Albania is hidden, strongly desires this to happen as the drowned person that drowns to survive. This power strongly desires that the fate of the mandates of the opposition people can be decided by Sali, Ilir and Fatos, all together, in order to export the serious crisis of the power legitimacy just in the middle of the Opposition and its parliamentary group.
Since six months, this power of mediocre people without imagination thinks that we can fall into this tragicomic trap for all Albanian Opposition.
Since six months in a row we have been provoked through various ways based on the miserable hope that we can enter in a deadlock in which the fate of the Opposition mandates is not in the hands of the people that support us but in the hands of the old forces that have come together to stop our irrefrainable effort toward the unveiling of the electoral crime.
However, since six months we told them not to hope, because our mandates can not be held hostage by Sali, Ilir, Fatos and nobody else who hopes that can transform the Opposition principled conflict against this election thieves’ power into a hide and seek game about mandates.
In case the power will not listen to the voice of our reason March will not be the month of the hide and seek game of Sali, Ilir and Fatos about the Opposition mandates, but the month of organization of a wave of protest, which will not stop until we achieve our inalienable aim for full and unconditional transparency of the elections.
We have not been elected to negotiate with the citizens’ freedoms and rights but to protect these rights from every pressure or diversion as we have done and we will always do.
We have not excluded and we will never exclude the dialog as a means to solve the serious political crisis the country faces as result of the election rigging and the refusal to open the ballot boxes, where the evidence about the rig exist. We were the ones who offered this time the first signal of compromise in function of good-understanding among sides in the benefit of the future of the country.
