The crisis is further deepened in the last weeks of July. This observation was made by the Leader of the Opposition Edi Rama in his weekly conversation with journalists. Talking about the conflicts created with the President of the Republic and the strategic partners of our country regarding the draft law on national intelligent service Rama said: The country is exhausted as result of the crisis. The crisis that has already affected the Albanian economy to the bone has been combined with the aspects of the crisis of democracy showing to the entire public opinion and our allies and partners the lack of will on the part of the ruling majority to honor the norms of NATO membership.   And this as result of a bad will through which it is aimed to subdue the secret service. In this case this attitude is in contradiction with the interests of the country, NATO and USA, our lawyer for the country’s accession into NATO, it means that obscure interests stay behind this act; obscure interests that unfortunately are embodied and represented by the Prime Minister of the country. The crisis with the President of the Republic through an unethical request, even as concerns its terms, addressed as an accusation against the President for allegedly violation of the Constitution and the blocking of the Constitutional Court that has been reduced up to this point exactly because of the exclusive responsibility of those who accuse sit on the chairs of the grabbed power that has given daily evidence that the fundamental reason for the June 28th elections’ rigging was the greediness of the power.”

 

Asked on the Opposition action regarding the transparency of last general elections Chairman Rama highlighted: “In case the transparency will not be ensured and the right of the Albanians to see the truth which is closed in the ballot boxes for more than one year will be denied of course it will increase the responsibility and the costs of the current government and it will cost us all. As far as we are concerned we will continue to ask for transparency as a basic principle of our vision for the way this country must function. We are not asking simply for the transparency of those ballot boxes, but for the transparency as a basic principle of our work and the coexistence of all political factors elected by the people to govern or to do the opposition about the governing of this country. The lack of transparency has been transformed into a principle for the ruling majority. There is no transparency at all. There is not transparency for the ballot boxes and the economic figures.  The ruling majority does not inform the Albanians about the truth regarding the public debt, the trade deficit and the general situation in all sectors. There are no realistic figures about the incomes. The lack of the transparency originates by the substantial reasons that have to do with the satisfaction of those obscure interests that only the transparency can undo. There is also no transparency as concerns the relations of the government with media. As a result the editors, who are not part of the power’s court, are under a daily mafia aggression. The fines imposed to media are only the tip of the iceberg that lies deep in the persecution of those who finance the critical media against the government. We will cancel all the fines imposed to the media once we will be in power, as we will cancel every process regarding the alienation of the public property in a corruptive way. Any damage caused to media by the power will be indemnified.”
